Answer firstFlash brew is a normal hot pour-over brewed straight onto ice. Hot extraction captures the aromatics, and the ice locks them in instantly, giving a bright, clean, aromatic cup. Total water is 1:15, of which about 40% is ice and 60% is hot water. It is nothing like cold brew (12–24 hours), and perfect for Malaysia’s heat.
Flash brew = hot extraction, straight onto ice
Why it tastes so good
Hot water captures aroma compounds (cold brew cannot); pouring onto ice chills it instantly and locks those aromatics in. That is why flash brew is brighter and more aromatic than cold brew.
Hot extraction captures aroma → instant chill → aroma locked

Grind and steps
Grind medium-fine (a touch finer than a hot pour-over, since total water is lower). Steps: 1. Put 120g ice in the server. 2. Have 180g hot water ready (90–94°C). 3. Brew a normal pour-over so the coffee drips straight onto the ice. 4. Swirl and serve.
