What qualifications do you need?

No prior experience is required to start. Most professional baristas in Malaysia hold either an SCA Coffee Skills certification (international standard) or a NEIVCE national diploma for full-time career roles. How long does it take to become a professional barista?

A weekend course (2 months) gives you working skills. For a full career qualification, the BMART diploma is 12 months, and the Work & Study programme is 9 months with job placement.
