What you will learn

Learn what happened in the cup—not another recipe.

The workshop connects tasting, brewing and adjustment in one loop: identify the main problem first, then change one relevant variable.

A student tastes three pour-over coffees and records the differences in the cup
Taste → Brew → AdjustLet the cup guide every decision
01

Describe flavour clearly

Recognise acidity, sweetness, bitterness, strength and finish instead of stopping at “good” or “bad”.

02

Build a V60 baseline

Follow a clear sequence for dosing, grinding, blooming, pouring, timing and tasting.

03

Adjust with a reason

When a brew is sour, bitter, weak or strong, change one relevant variable at a time.

Your 3-hour learning path

Taste. Brew. Adjust.

Each hour builds towards a clear outcome, so you leave knowing exactly what to practise next.

Taste-adjustment framework

Different tastes need different first checks.

Start with what you taste in the cup. The right adjustment then depends on the coffee, equipment and actual brew result.

Too sour / sharpCheck grind size and extraction
Too bitter / dryCheck extraction and agitation
Too weak / hollowCheck ratio, grind and contact time
Too strong / heavyCheck brew ratio and target strength
